The Adverb Song

An adverb modifies a verb, another adverb, or an adjective.  It also tells how, when, and where, and to what exten-t!

Modifies means Òchanges.Ó  An adverb tells us when it happened, where it happened, how it happened, and how strongly (or weakly) it happened.  Three-quarters of the adverbs you will use end in Òly.Ó  If you see a word that does not seem to be any other part of speech, it is probably an adverb (e.g. yes, no, not, still).

Example: How do you walk? Quietly? Loudly? Energetically?
