Miss C's SPELLING ACTIVITIES
Using the words on this week’s spelling list (or super challenge list), complete three activities by Friday. Staple your pages together and turn in as a packet. One of your spelling activities must be the signed pretest (idea number one). Please complete your activities in your neatest writing. |

Idea 1 MUST DO! |
Have an adult at home give you a practice test using all of your spelling words. Write any misspelled words three times each. The adult must sign the test. |
| Idea 2 | Using ten spelling words as the lines in a drawing, draw a scene on a blank sheet of paper. Write each of the ten spelling words five times as you complete your picture. |
| Idea 3 | Using different color pens or markers, write each spelling word as a complete word, but write each syllable in a different color. For example, the word “mythical” might have myth in red, i written in blue, and cal written in orange. |
| Idea 4 | Letter Writing! Write a letter to a friend or family member using all your spelling words. Underline each spelling word. |
| Idea 5 | Cut and Paste! Cut letters out of magazines to spell your spelling words. |
| Idea 6 | Create a mnemonic or trick to help remember how to spell ten of the words on your list. Write out and/or describe each mnemonic. |
| Idea 7 | Write ten sentences using spelling words. Each sentence must be at least eight words in length. Underline the spelling words. |
| Idea 8 | Write the definitions of all of your spelling words. Use an electronic or standard dictionary. |
| Idea 9 | Create a crossword puzzle using at least ten spelling words. You can use graph paper OR you can make one on the Internet. www.edhelper.com/crossword.htm Don’t forget to print an answer sheet. |
