Predictions Ð Guess what will happen next in the story.  For example, ÒGeorge may get grounded if his parents find out.Ó

Questions Ð Write down what you are wondering.  For example, ÒWhat does ÔjusticeÕ mean?Ó  Or, ÒI donÕt understand this part.Ó

Connections Ð

Text-to-self Ð Compare a character or an event to yourself.  For example, ÒI stole a cookie once.Ó

Text-to-text Ð Compare a character or an event to another book.  For example, ÒThis reminds me of how Stanley got in trouble for stealing in Holes

Text-to-world Ð Compare a character or an event to what might be going on in the world.  For example, ÒPeople steal other peopleÕs things in the real world, too.Ó
